004: Succeeding in a Niche Market | MEGAN GRASSELL
Summary::
After taking her 13-year-old sister shopping for bras, Megan was frustrated by how sexualized most of the choices were for young girls. So she started her own company, Yellowberry, to offer an alternative: comfortable, colorful training bras that are super cute. She initially raised $42,000 through Kickstarter (well above the $25,000 goal she set for herself), and is now in the midst of her 2nd Kickstarter. In the past couple of years, her business has become a full-fledged online retail shop.
If you’re building a business in a niche space, Megan is extremely wise for her age explaining business techniques that have worked, and some that haven’t. Or, if you have a teen child (or are a teen) this podcast will urge you to dream big, plus provide you with tactical advice on initial steps to take.
In 2014, Megan was selected as one of TIME Magazine’s 25 Most Influential Teens and included on Huffington Post’s list of 14 Most Fearless Teens. In 2015, Megan was named one of the 24 Millennials to Watch by Yahoo. Megan also serves as a member of the first-ever Barbie Global Advisory Board.

003: Incorporating Wellness into your Business & Life | VERONICA SCHREIBEIS SMITH
Summary::
Why is it that when you walk into one building, you feel “blah,” but walking into another space you all of a sudden feel inspired! This isn’t just in your head, there’s a real science behind it and today’s guest Veronica, of Vera Iconica Architecture, explains how we can get that good feeling all of the time.
Veronica has built her architecture firm to incorporate holistic wellness every step of the way. Prior to this, I had never thought much about my living quarters “working” for my life, but she explains how she works with clients to ensure that they get a space that works with their lifestyle through intuitive design and thoughtful material selection. From a business point of view, it’s very interesting to learn how to create a company that doesn’t stop at what people expect (ie. a house built) but exceeds that by providing more, and in turn, more good to the world.
